Hosen Resilience Center, Sderot

The Simchat Torah Massacre.

On Oct. 7, Sderot, a small city of 20,000, woke up not only to the sounds of missiles landing, but to a massive attack of terrorists attacking the city, taking hostages and killing its residents.  After the day's events, an unprecedented evacuation of a city has taken place.

The residents of Sderot are dispersed, and many require emotional and psychological support.   This project addresses the emotional and psychological needs of children, youth, and adults who have been impacted by trauma resulting from the Simchat Torah Massacre.

The Hosen Center provides support to families of victims and injured individuals, conducts group interventions to prevent post-trauma, and offers psycho-educational programs.  The Resilience Center was established in response to ongoing missile attacks in Sderot and has been providing free psychological therapy and workshops to help residents cope with the situation.

Help support the Resilience Center to provide 24/7 emotional support via phone response, psycho-social support, and help prevent any further post-trauma they have already sustained.
