The National Memorial Ceremony
Families of October 7th
On the second anniversary of the murderous terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, the Kumu movement will hold the National Memorial Ceremony, initiated and organized by the Families of October 7 — for the second consecutive year.
On the first anniversary of the massacre, the Families of October 7 and the Iron Swords War, together with Kumu, initiated the National Memorial Ceremony at Yarkon Park. The event received unprecedented public support in Israel. Over 1.5 million Israeli viewers across all television networks, with approximately 350 spontaneous gatherings around the country. Broadcast in over 150 locations worldwide, connecting Jewish communities across continents. Covered by 50 foreign media networks, ensuring the world heard the story told with compassion and dignity.
The ceremony became the central event commemorating the massacre and is considered a defining and historic moment in shaping national memory, as well as a leading advocacy event that presented October 7 to the world from a deeply human perspective. It gave voice to all affected communities and to the diverse fabric of Israeli society, emphasizing the values of remembrance, unity, mutual responsibility, and hope.
The National Memorial Ceremony – Families of October 7th will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 9:30 PM (Israel Time), immediately following the Sukkot holiday. The ceremony will be held with a live audience and broadcast live on all major television channels, radio networks, and leading news websites in Israel, all of which have already confirmed participation. It will also be streamed worldwide for Jewish communities everywhere.
